Nscale Secures $14 Billion AI Infrastructure Deal with Microsoft
News Summary
UK-based AI hyperscaler startup Nscale has secured a substantial $14 billion deal with Microsoft to deliver Nvidia AI infrastructure across Europe and the U.S. This agreement involves approximately 200,000 Nvidia GB300 GPUs, distributed to multiple data centers. Specifically, Nscale will deploy 104,000 GPUs to a data center in Texas, leased by Ionic Digital, over the next 12 to 18 months. The company also plans to expand its capacity at this location to 1.2 gigawatts. Additionally, 12,600 GPUs will be deployed to the Start Campus in Sines, Portugal, starting in the first quarter of 2026. The deal builds on existing plans with Microsoft and Aker regarding data centers in Norway and the UK, with 23,000 GPUs heading to the Loughton, England campus in 2027, and 52,000 GPUs to Microsoft’s AI campus in Narvik, Norway. Nscale, founded in 2024, has raised over $1.7 billion from investors, including Aker, Nokia, and Nvidia. The company is considering an IPO as early as the end of next year.
