News Summary

Freedom Mobile has launched its wireless services in various locations across southwestern Ontario, including Chatham-Kent, Ridgetown, Wallaceburg, Blenheim, Dresden, Thamesville, and Bothwell. This expansion is supported by partner agreements through the CRTC’s Mobile Virtual Network Operator (MVNO) framework. Although the specific partners are not disclosed, such agreements have facilitated new entrants in the wireless market, like Cogeco using Telus’ network. Freedom Mobile’s expansion also includes the upgrade of 5G services in Ontario, Alberta, and British Columbia, with nearly 180 new 5G sites activated.
