Sprinklr Announces Major Workforce Reductions Amid Shift to AI Experiences

Global

News Summary

Sprinklr, a U.S.-based customer experience management platform provider, has announced significant layoffs, reducing its workforce by about 15%, equating to approximately 500 employees. This move comes due to the company’s business performance not meeting expectations. The layoffs follow previous reductions of 3% and 4% in its workforce in 2023, affecting around 200 employees in total. Despite the cutbacks, Sprinklr intends to continue hiring in prioritized areas to focus on strategic priorities, particularly in developing AI-led experiences. In line with this shift, Sprinklr has appointed Jan Hauser, a former PwC partner, and Stephen Ward, a former Lenovo CEO and C3.ai founding member, as new board directors. Meanwhile, Ed Gillis, a current board member and audit committee chair, will be stepping down at the end of March. Sprinklr, headquartered in New York, serves over 1,800 global customers including giants like Microsoft, P&G, and Samsung.
