Porsche and Audi EVs Join Tesla Supercharger Network
News Summary
Starting September 9, Porsche and Audi electric vehicle (EV) owners in North America will have access to Tesla’s extensive Supercharger network, enhancing their charging options significantly. Both automakers, part of the Volkswagen Group, announced the implementation of the North American Charging Standard (NACS), allowing their vehicles to recharge using Tesla Superchargers. Porsche is initiating this integration with a ‘soft launch,’ where owners of Taycan and Macan Electric models can reserve a free NACS to DC adapter. Audi’s upcoming models such as the Q6 e-tron and A6 Sportback e-tron will also feature compatibility with Tesla’s network. Existing Porsche EVs from the model year 2024 or older can purchase the adapter for $185. This move comes as Porsche and Audi work on software updates to integrate Tesla Superchargers into their navigation systems, although other Volkswagen Group subsidiaries like Lamborghini and Bentley have not yet adopted NACS.
