Pop Mart’s Labubu Toys Achieve Billion-Dollar Success
News Summary
Pop Mart, the Chinese company behind the viral Labubu franchise, has experienced significant financial growth in 2025. The company’s revenue grew by 204 percent, with net profits increasing by 362 percent. The Labubu character, part of the Monsters franchise designed by Chinese-Dutch artist Kasing Lung, generated over $670 million in revenue in the first half of 2025, marking a 668 percent increase from the previous year. This success has made the Monsters series Pop Mart’s most successful franchise, contributing to nearly 35 percent of the company’s total revenue.
The company’s plush product line, particularly vinyl-plush keychains, has been a major driver of this growth. These keychains have become popular fashion accessories, used by celebrities like Rihanna and Lady Gaga, leading to a social media frenzy and widespread sales. Pop Mart’s revenue from plush products alone grew over 1,200 percent this year, reaching $854 million and accounting for 44 percent of its total revenue.
Pop Mart, founded in 2010, has become increasingly international, with over 40 percent of its revenue now coming from outside China. The United States has been a key market, with revenue in the Americas rising over 1,100 percent to $315 million. The number of physical stores in the Americas has nearly doubled, making it the company’s fastest-growing region.
