Palestinian Teens Aim for Robotics Gold at Global Competition
News Summary
Team Palestine, led by founders Khalil DarOmar and Sara Saleh, is set to compete in the ninth annual FIRST Global Challenge in Panama City. Despite the challenges posed by the ongoing conflict in their homeland and restrictions on receiving robotics kits, the team has persevered in their mission to increase awareness and access to STEM programs in Palestine. Five teenagers from the team will represent Palestine, competing against nearly 200 nations in hopes of winning robotics gold. The initiative, founded in 2018, started with no experience but has grown through training programs in Ramallah, overcoming significant obstacles along the way.
