News Summary

Meta has appointed Connor Hayes, the VP of Product for Generative AI, as the new head of Threads. This change in leadership comes as Threads, a platform initially launched in 2023 under the leadership of Instagram head Adam Mosseri, has seen significant growth. The platform’s mobile daily active user numbers are quickly approaching those of X, with Threads averaging approximately 115 million DAUs compared to X’s 132 million. The appointment of Hayes reflects Meta’s commitment to expanding Threads beyond its origins as a side product of Instagram.
