LEGO Suspends Standard ‘Pick a Brick’ Service in Canada and U.S.
News Summary
LEGO has temporarily paused its Standard ‘Pick a Brick’ service in both Canada and the United States. This suspension follows changes to U.S. trade regulations under the Trump administration, specifically the end of the De Minimis exemption which allowed packages valued under $800 to enter the U.S. without customs duties. As a result, postal services have halted shipments due to the immediate implementation of these rules. While Canada has not enacted similar tariffs, LEGO’s system treats North America as a single market, leading to the removal of thousands of Standard elements from sale in both countries. Currently, only Bestseller elements, which are shipped domestically within the U.S. and Canada, are available. LEGO has acknowledged the situation on its Canadian website, and Canada Post is taking steps to comply with the new U.S. requirements.
