Kepler Communications Partners with Axiom Space on On-Orbit Computing

Toronto

News Summary

Toronto-based Kepler Communications has initiated the sale of on-orbit computing services through its upcoming satellite constellation, the Kepler Network. The first client is Axiom Space, a Houston-based company known for its privately crewed spaceflights to the International Space Station. Axiom Space has purchased two compute payloads for its Orbital Data Centre nodes to provide cloud computing services for both public and private sectors. This partnership aims to enhance on-orbit computing capabilities, enabling real-time decision-making and advanced data processing for space missions. Kepler plans to launch its first relay satellites in the fourth quarter of 2025, with a second batch expected two years later. The company, founded in 2015, has raised over $200 million, including a $122.7 million CAD Series C round in 2023. Kepler is collaborating with the European Space Agency’s High Throughput Optical Network program to expand its services.
