News Summary

Jack Dorsey, CEO of Block and Twitter co-founder, has introduced Bitchat, a new messaging application designed to operate on Bluetooth mesh networks, allowing communication without Wi-Fi or cellular reception. This app, which Dorsey developed over a weekend, extends message range up to 300 meters by relaying messages through peers. Bitchat, currently in beta testing with a full capacity of 10,000 users, emphasizes encryption and decentralization, aligning with Dorsey’s interest in decentralized technology like Bitcoin. The app is awaiting review before an official release.
