This model immerses students in real-world care environments, providing hands-on experience and fostering a deeper understanding of compassionate care. The program aims to enhance recruitment and retention in the healthcare workforce and support the region’s aging population. Funded by a $1.98 million grant from the Ministry of Health, the initiative also received additional support from The Schlegel-UW Research Institute for Aging and the Ontario Association of Adult and Continuing Education School Board Administrators.
