HALO Expands Remote Patient Monitoring Services Across Canada
News Summary
H.A.L.O. Tele-Monitoring Inc. (HALO Inc.), a Canadian innovation in patient observation technology, is expanding its services across the country. Originating from the University Health Network (UHN) in Toronto, HALO Inc. was established to scale a remote monitoring solution first implemented at UHN. The technology, created through the collaboration of UHN staff, including nurse practitioner Marijana Zubrinic and thoracic surgeon Dr. Shaf Keshavjee, offers a two-way audio-visual device that enables real-time patient observation from a centralized center. This approach aims to enhance patient safety while reducing the resource burden on hospitals. HALO’s solution has already positively impacted over 7,000 Canadian patients by integrating seamlessly into care workflows and allowing for timely interventions. The expansion will see HALO build on its adoption across more than two dozen hospitals and long-term care homes in Canada.
