News Summary

Digg’s original founder, Kevin Rose, along with Reddit co-founder Alexis Ohanian, are reviving the once-prominent social site Digg to create a platform centered around authentic human interaction in an age dominated by AI-generated content. With the rise of AI and bots, the founders aim to build a community where real people have a larger stake in the platform’s success. They plan to implement new technologies, such as zero-knowledge proofs, to ensure participants are human and to offer different levels of service based on verification. The founders are not entirely anti-AI; instead, they seek to use AI for tasks like site moderation while allowing humans to focus on meaningful community building. Additionally, the new Digg will support moderators and creators financially, aligning all stakeholders for a more sustainable business model.
