AI Dominates 2025 Startup Investment Landscape
News Summary
According to new data from PitchBook, AI startups are significantly dominating venture capital investments in 2025. The year is projected to be the first where AI accounts for more than half of all VC funding. As of the latest reports, $192.7 billion has been invested in AI out of a total of $366.8 billion. In the U.S., AI investments represent 62.7% of VC money, while globally, the figure is 53.2%. Despite the substantial investments in AI, the number of startups and venture funds successfully raising money has decreased significantly, with only 823 funds raised globally in 2025 compared to 4,430 in 2022. This trend highlights a bifurcated market where the focus is predominantly on AI startups and large firms.
