Amazon is set to host a significant event on February 26, 2025, where it is expected to unveil a revamped version of its Alexa digital assistant powered by Artificial Intelligence. The event will be held in New York City and is led by Panos Panay, Amazon’s devices and services chief, marking his first major presentation for the company after joining from Microsoft in 2023. This announcement comes after the company’s fall event was skipped, reportedly due to delays with the AI-enhanced Alexa. The new version of Alexa, announced in late 2023, has been under development and is anticipated to feature generative AI capabilities. This event could also potentially introduce new Alexa-powered hardware such as smart speakers. Amazon aims to reinvigorate interest in its smart home products amid competition from tech giants like Apple and Google.
