News Summary

Canadian actor Simu Liu, known for his role in Shang-Chi, is working on a film adaptation of the popular video game Sleeping Dogs. Developed by the now-defunct Vancouver-based United Front Games, Sleeping Dogs was praised for its open-world Hong Kong setting and compelling story of an undercover cop in a Triad organization. Liu has expressed his determination to bring the game to the big screen, despite the challenges in pitching to film executives. Previously, an adaptation starring Hong Kong action legend Donnie Yen was planned but ultimately scrapped. Liu is eager to bring the project to life and potentially create a movie before a game sequel.
