News Summary

Google’s Gemini app has achieved a significant milestone by surpassing ChatGPT to become the top-ranked free app on the Apple App Store in both Canada and the U.S. This achievement is largely attributed to the introduction of the Nano Banana image editing tool, which allows users to make inline edits to images while preserving the overall integrity of the image. The feature has been a major draw for users, leading to a surge in downloads. Additionally, Gemini has enhanced its user experience with a redesigned prompt bar and visual guidance features. Analysts believe that if Gemini maintains its current momentum, it could further narrow the competitive gap with ChatGPT.
