Uno Platform Focuses on Enterprise Developers Amidst Rise of Vibe Coding Startups
News Summary
Montreal-based Uno Platform is setting its sights on enterprise developers, a move that differentiates it from the surge of AI-powered low-code tools aimed at hobbyists. The startup offers a suite of enterprise-grade tools enabling developers to build cross-platform .NET applications supported on Android, Apple, Linux, and Windows systems. Users can code once and deploy across multiple platforms, enhancing productivity fivefold. Co-founded by Francois Tanguay, Uno Platform recently raised C$3.5 million in seed funding, led by AQC Capital and Desjardins Capital, with participation from Microsoft’s Scott Hanselman and other angel investors. The funding will facilitate the rollout of Uno Platform Studio and a new feature called ‘Hot Design,’ which allows real-time interface changes. Initially developed as a project within the consulting agency Nventive, Uno Platform was launched as an open-source toolbox in 2018 and spun out as an independent entity in 2023. It has attracted enterprise clients such as Toyota and Microsoft, and boasts over 300 open-source contributors.
