Michael Shmelev

I am a UX designer and HR-trained professional passionate about creating innovative job workflows and workspaces that tackle the growing epidemic of sedentary office work. With workplace culture evolving, prolonged sitting has become a serious issue, contributing to health risks such as musculoskeletal problems, decreased productivity, and long-term chronic conditions.

My mission is to bridge the gap between workplace efficiency and employee well-being by integrating movement-friendly work environments, AI-powered task scheduling, and behavioral design principles into office workflows. By applying human-centered design and HR expertise, I aim to develop solutions that seamlessly integrate movement into daily work routines without disrupting productivity.

Research from the World Health Organization (WHO) and the Canadian Centre for Occupational Health and Safety (CCOHS) underscores the urgent need for intervention. Studies show that even short, frequent movement breaks can significantly reduce health risks while enhancing cognitive function and job performance. However, many workplaces struggle to implement effective strategies that employees can adopt without feeling like they are compromising work efficiency.

Through UX research, corporate wellness strategies, and gamified engagement models, I am exploring how we can design workspaces that encourage movement naturally, improve workflow efficiency, and create a more sustainable and health-conscious work culture.
