Chris is a seasoned economic development professional with more than 13 years of experience working across both municipal and regional governments, as well as non-profit economic development organizations. Throughout his career, Chris has demonstrated a deep commitment to fostering sustainable economic growth and supporting the prosperity of local communities. His work has spanned a diverse range of sectors and responsibilities, from managing one of Canada’s largest and most dynamic logistics and transportation hubs to guiding small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) as they scale their operations and expand into global markets and working directly with private enterprises to bring new innovations and technologies to market.
Chris’s strength lies in his ability to understand the unique economic dynamics of a region and leverage that knowledge to develop innovative, inclusive, and actionable strategies that promote long-term growth. Whether supporting high-potential startups or facilitating the expansion of established businesses, Chris is driven by a clear mission: to help build economically vibrant communities that are resilient, competitive, and future-focused.
Academically, Chris holds both a Bachelor’s and Master’s degree from Brock University, along with a Certificate in Economic Development from the University of Waterloo. He is also a Certified International Trade Professional (CITP®|FIBP®), a designation awarded by the Forum for International Trade Training (FITT) in Ottawa, which recognizes his expertise in international business and trade.
