Lyft and China’s Baidu have announced a partnership to launch autonomous robotaxi services across Europe starting in 2026. This strategic collaboration will see Baidu’s RT6 Apollo Go autonomous vehicles deployed, beginning in Germany and the UK, pending regulatory approval. Lyft will manage customer operations and fleet logistics, leveraging its recent acquisition of FREENOW, a mobility service with established relationships in major European markets. Baidu’s Apollo Go, already operating over 1,000 autonomous vehicles globally, will provide the technology backbone for the service. This move positions Lyft and Baidu to compete with other companies like Uber, Waymo, and Pony.ai in the burgeoning European autonomous vehicle market.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
