4AG Robotics, a Salmon Arm, British Columbia-based AgTech startup, has successfully closed a $40 million Series B funding round to expand its fleet of autonomous mushroom-harvesting robots. The round was led by European B Corp Astanor and the UK-based agri-food tech investor Cibus Capital, with participation from Voyager Capital and returning investors including InBC, Emmertech, and BDC Capital. With this new capital, 4AG aims to scale the manufacturing of its Canadian-made robots, enhance AI-powered features, and grow its team by adding 30 new positions. The company has sold 53 robots to date, with customers in Canada, Ireland, and Australia, and expects to reach $7 million in revenue by the end of 2025. Founded in 1999 as TechBrew Robotics, 4AG rebranded in 2023 under the leadership of CEO Sean O\u2019Connor. The startup is addressing the labor shortages in mushroom farming by automating manual tasks such as picking and packing, leveraging AI to improve crop management and disease detection.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
