Broadcom has initiated a transition of VMware’s channel partner program to an invite-only model, significantly affecting many small-to-medium-sized businesses. This change comes as part of Broadcom’s broader strategy since acquiring VMware, aimed at reducing the number of businesses eligible to resell and support VMware offerings. The move to the new Broadcom Advantage Partner Program, set to commence on November 1, will see fewer cloud service providers (CSPs) eligible, thus impacting those that fail to receive an invite. These CSPs, who will be cut from the program, are expected to continue operations until October 31, after which they will face challenges in renewing VMware licenses and maintaining service support. Additionally, the termination of a white-label program on October 31 could force businesses using VMware through this channel to undergo potentially costly and risky migrations.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
