Bedrock Robotics, an autonomous vehicle technology startup founded by former Waymo engineers, has officially launched with $80 million in funding from investors Eclipse and 8VC. The company, which has been operating in stealth mode for over a year, aims to revolutionize construction and worksite operations by retrofitting vehicles with self-driving capabilities. Led by co-founder and CEO Boris Sofman, who previously spearheaded Waymo’s self-driving trucks program and co-founded Anki Robotics, Bedrock is focused on upgrading existing vehicle fleets with sensors and intelligence that adapt to project goals and changing conditions.
