RealSense, a company specializing in stereoscopic imaging technology, has spun out from Intel after 14 years to pursue independent growth. The company, which sells cameras that enhance depth perception using infrared light, aims to improve machine interaction with the physical world, benefiting industries such as robotics, drones, and autonomous vehicles. With more than 3,000 customers, RealSense has raised a $50 million Series A funding round from Intel Capital and other investors. This capital will be used to expand its go-to-market team and enhance its technology for better safety in human-robot interactions and access control. The spinout, approved by former Intel CEO Pat Gelsinger, marks a significant step for CEO Nadav Orbach, who has transitioned from a veteran executive to a first-time CEO leading an independent company.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
