Elon Musk’s vision of creating a city centered around his SpaceX operations has come to fruition with the official establishment of ‘Starbase’ in South Texas. The decision was made following a vote by the local community, which is predominantly made up of SpaceX employees. The incorporation vote passed overwhelmingly, with most voters in favor of establishing Starbase as a city. The new status will allow SpaceX employees, who hold positions within the city administration, to make decisions regarding the city’s operations, such as approving beach and park closures during rocket launches. The creation of Starbase aligns with Musk’s long-held ambitions and further cements SpaceX’s pivotal role in the region. However, the move has faced opposition from local activists who argue that it could limit public access to local beaches. Despite these concerns, Musk celebrated the approval of Starbase, stating it is now a real city.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
