Strava, a leading global fitness and running application, has acquired Runna, a marathon training app. Founded in 2009, Strava boasts 180 million users across 150 countries, including Canada. The acquisition allows Strava to offer formal training plans for the first time, filling a significant gap in its offerings. Runna, launched in 2021, focuses on marathon planning and training and has been a finalist for Apple’s iPhone App of the Year in 2024. The acquisition enables Runna to access Strava’s vast running community, potentially boosting its service. Both companies will continue to operate independently, with future integrations planned. The deal is expected to close soon, although no financial details have been disclosed.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
