Edith Dumont, highlighted the economic uncertainties posed by U.S. President Donald Trump’s tariffs. The government plans to strengthen Ontario’s economy by investing in infrastructure such as railways, highways, and energy production, while also introducing new legislation aimed at enhancing interprovincial trade and recognizing credentials from other provinces to fill labor gaps. The government intends to designate regions with critical mineral deposits as ‘strategic importance,’ streamlining processes for proponents meeting high standards. Additionally, the government aims to address housing shortages by working with municipalities to reduce development charges and standardizing building processes. The throne speech also addressed aiding municipalities in ending homeless encampments.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
