Waymo and Uber are set to launch a commercial robotaxi service in Atlanta this summer. The collaboration will allow Uber users to hail Waymo’s fleet of autonomous Jaguar I-PACE vehicles through the Uber app. Uber will manage vehicle maintenance, charging, and access, while Waymo will oversee the autonomous technology and operations. This development marks a significant expansion of the partnership between the two companies, which began offering the ‘Waymo on Uber’ service in Austin earlier this year. The service will initially cover 65 square miles of Atlanta, including Downtown, Buckhead, and Capitol View, with plans for future expansion. Interested Uber customers in Atlanta can join an ‘interest list’ for early access to the robotaxi rides.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
