Framework, a San Francisco-based startup known for its customizable laptops, has announced a temporary halt on the sales of certain laptop models in the United States. This decision follows the imposition of new tariffs by the US government, which have increased the cost of importing goods from Taiwan. The affected models include the Ultra 5 125H and Ryzen 5 7640U versions of the Framework Laptop 13. The company originally priced its laptops based on a 0 percent tariff, but with the current 10 percent tariff, continuing sales would result in a financial loss. Framework’s transparency about the impact of these tariffs is notable, as many other companies have made similar adjustments without public disclosure.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
