Kraken, a San Francisco-based cryptocurrency exchange, has secured a restricted dealer licence in Canada, marking a significant milestone in its operations within the country. This registration, granted under the oversight of the Ontario Securities Commission (OSC), aligns with Canada’s strengthened investor protection rules and confirms Kraken’s position in the Canadian crypto market. As part of its expansion, Kraken has appointed Cynthia Del Pozo as the new leader of its Canadian operations. Del Pozo succeeds Alex Mehrdad and will focus on strengthening Kraken\u2019s regulatory, political, and commercial relationships across North America. She brings nearly 15 years of experience in corporate development, operations, and fintech consulting, previously serving as the CEO of Gemini Canada. Under her leadership, Kraken aims to continue its exponential growth in Canada, having doubled its team size and monthly transacting users over the past two years, and surpassing $2 billion CAD in combined client assets under custody.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
