Stardust, a startup founded in 2023 and operating out of Israel with incorporation in the United States, is making waves in the field of solar geoengineering. The company is developing proprietary aerosol technologies aimed at reflecting sunlight away from the Earth, potentially cooling the planet temporarily. This ambitious project highlights a shift from traditional geoengineering research primarily led by US-based scientists at universities and federal agencies. Stardust is positioning itself as a private company driving the development and possible deployment of climate-modifying technologies. Despite its secretive nature, the company has faced calls for increased transparency and engagement from former climate governance consultant Janos Pasztor. The startup plans to sell its technology to governments interested in modifying the global climate, acting like a defense contractor for climate alteration amid few existing national and international regulations.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
