Two Ontario-based companies, Metropolitan Technologies and Quantum Bridge Technologies, are spearheading a project to secure Canada’s critical infrastructure against future cyber threats posed by quantum computing. Backed by the federally funded Digital Innovation Cluster (DIGITAL), these companies are developing a quantum-safe cybersecurity solution. DIGITAL has invested $1.2 million into the project, which is part of a broader $4.7 million co-investment across three projects, also supported by $7.3 million from private partners. Thales, a global leader in advanced technology solutions, is collaborating on the project, providing expertise in cybersecurity resilience. The project is gaining momentum, with significant industry support and a pilot project underway. Quantum Bridge Technologies has recently met the standards of the U.S. National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) Cryptographic Algorithm Validation Program, underscoring its commitment to advancing post-quantum cryptography. The initiative is crucial for protecting sensitive data and securing infrastructure in the face of emerging quantum threats, with both companies playing key roles in the Toronto-Waterloo tech corridor.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
