AI hardware startup Humane has announced the discontinuation of its AI Pins following its acquisition by HP for $116 million. Users have been given a 10-day notice, with the devices set to stop functioning on February 28, 2025. Humane advises users to download any stored data before this date as all customer data will be permanently deleted. The acquisition by HP is part of its strategy to enhance its AI capabilities, integrating Humane’s team and technology into a new group called HP IQ, which will focus on AI innovation. The AI Pins were initially criticized, and despite seeking a $1 billion buyout, Humane settled for a lower figure. Refunds will be issued to customers who fall within the 90-day return window.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
