Google has begun the rollout of its new security feature, Identity Check, on Pixel devices with Android 15. This feature requires biometric authentication, such as face or fingerprint recognition, to change device settings when not in a trusted location, enhancing protection against unauthorized access. Initially tested in Brazil, Identity Check is designed to safeguard users by mandating additional verification to alter settings like screen locks and biometrics and to perform actions such as factory resets and access to Google Password Manager. It will soon extend to Samsung devices running One UI 7.
