Elon Musk, founder of SpaceX, has recently expressed his criticism of NASA’s Artemis program, which aims to return humans to the moon. Musk, who has long favored Mars as a human destination, has publicly stated that the moon is a distraction and that efforts should be focused on going directly to Mars. This contradicts NASA’s current plans to send human missions to the lunar south pole and establish a sustainable base there. Musk’s comments come as he assumes an advisory role in the Trump administration, influencing space policy decisions. Despite his criticisms, the Artemis program, created during the first Trump administration, is likely to continue, though Musk’s statements may push for changes in its implementation.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
