Apple has reportedly halted production of its Vision Pro mixed reality headset due to lower-than-expected demand. Initially launched in early 2024, the Vision Pro faced challenges in gaining mass consumer appeal, primarily due to its steep price and limited software offerings. Reports indicate that by the end of 2024, Apple and its suppliers had accumulated sufficient inventory to meet their goals without additional manufacturing. Production was scaled back significantly by summer 2024, with the main assembler, Luxshare, producing only half of its peak capacity. Moving forward, Apple is focusing on developing a more affordable version of the Vision Pro, potentially priced between $1,500 to $2,000 USD, by removing features like the EyeSight passthrough display and other sensors.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
