Ubisoft has announced the closure of its Winnipeg studio, impacting approximately 65 employees. The studio, which opened in 2018, served as a support hub for major Ubisoft titles such as Rainbow Six Siege and various Assassin’s Creed games. This closure comes on the heels of the recent shutdown of Ubisoft’s Halifax studio and is part of broader cost-cutting measures across the company, which have included layoffs at other locations such as San Francisco, Osaka, and Toronto. The decision to close these studios has sparked criticism due to Ubisoft’s history of receiving substantial subsidies from the Canadian government. Additionally, over 100 Montreal-based employees working on Rainbow Six Siege projects have been reassigned.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
