Kalshi, a prediction market startup, has taken significant actions against insider trading on its platform. Recently, the company suspended three political candidates and an employee of YouTube star MrBeast for engaging in insider trading activities. The political figures involved include Mark Moran, Matt Klein, and Ezekiel Enriquez, who were fined and faced suspensions after being caught through Kalshi’s newly implemented regulations designed to prevent such activities. The MrBeast employee, Artem Kaptur, a video editor, was fined more than $20,000 and suspended for two years. The insider trading involved wagering on YouTube streaming markets and political outcomes, exploiting access to non-public information. Kalshi’s enforcement actions mark one of the first public disciplinary measures in the prediction market industry. The US Commodity Futures Trading Commission has also been involved, overseeing the industry as it grapples with defining rules around insider trading.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
