Unitree Robotics, a leading Chinese robot manufacturer, is set to launch its most affordable humanoid robot, the Unitree R1, on the global market through AliExpress. Initially available in North America, Japan, Singapore, and Europe, the R1 is priced at approximately $4,370, significantly lower than its competitors. The robot, which stands 4 feet tall and weighs 50 pounds, features 26 smart joints, voice and image recognition, and is programmable with a software developer’s kit. Despite lacking hands with articulated fingers and high torque motors, the R1 is marketed as an ‘intelligent companion’ for research and software development, particularly appealing to laboratories and universities. The introduction of the R1 aims to make humanoid robots more accessible and is a step towards normalizing this technology.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
