Mark Zuckerberg’s philanthropic organization, the Chan Zuckerberg Initiative (CZI), has officially severed its ties with the pro-immigration advocacy group FWD.us, which Zuckerberg co-founded in 2013. Since its inception, FWD.us has received over half of its $400 million funding from CZI. However, as of this year, CZI has ceased its financial support and none of its staff, including Jordan Fox, who resigned from the FWD.us board, will fill any roles within the advocacy group. This decision aligns with CZI’s shift in focus towards science, education, and local community support, as stated by a CZI spokesperson. Despite the funding cut, FWD.us President Todd Schulte expressed gratitude for past and newfound support, asserting the organization’s commitment to advocating for immigrants and justice reform. The move also comes amid a broader pattern of Big Tech aligning with the policies of the current U.S. administration.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
