Waymo, the autonomous vehicle company, has received regulatory approval to expand its operations significantly across California. The company is now authorized to drive fully autonomously in a larger area, covering most of the Bay Area, including the East Bay, North Bay, and Sacramento, as well as a Southern California corridor stretching from Santa Clarita to San Diego. This expansion is part of Waymo’s broader strategy to increase its presence beyond its current operations in San Francisco, Silicon Valley, Los Angeles, and other locations like Atlanta, Austin, and Phoenix. While Waymo plans to begin welcoming riders in San Diego by mid-2026, it will need additional regulatory approvals to start carrying paying passengers in some of these new regions. The company also announced intentions to launch in several other U.S. cities, including Dallas, Denver, and Seattle.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
