Aurora Innovation has announced the expansion of its self-driving trucking service with a new 600-mile route from Fort Worth to El Paso, marking the company’s second commercial route for autonomous trucks. This follows the Dallas-to-Houston route launched with partners Hirschbach Motor Lines and Uber Freight. Aurora has achieved over 100,000 driverless miles on public roads with five autonomous trucks and plans to expand to Phoenix by the end of the year. The company is integrating next-generation hardware, developed with Fabrinet, into Volvo VNL Autonomous trucks, improving performance and durability at half the overall cost. This hardware includes a new lidar system capable of detecting objects up to 1,000 meters away. Aurora’s partnership with Aumovio is set to produce tens of thousands of self-driving trucks starting in 2027.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
