Montreal-based startup Deep Sky has announced plans to construct a large-scale carbon removal facility in southwestern Manitoba. The project, which is projected to cost $200 million, aims to initially remove 30,000 tonnes of carbon dioxide directly from the air annually, with a full-scale capacity of 500,000 tonnes per year. This facility is part of Deep Sky’s mission to lead in the carbon capture industry, enhancing Canada’s position in the global fight against climate change. The construction is set to begin next year, with regulatory adjustments being made to enable the project to qualify for federal tax credits.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
