Laberinto Press, based in Edmonton, Alberta, is making significant strides in the Canadian publishing scene by focusing on hyphenated Canadian literature and world literature in translation. Founded in 2020 during the pandemic, Laberinto Press has rapidly grown, publishing nearly 45 hyphenated-Canadian authors. The press has been recognized with awards such as Best Emerging Publisher in Alberta (2022) and Best Publisher of the Year (2024). Luciana Erregue, the Director, emphasizes the importance of community connections, particularly with Alberta’s independent booksellers and the broader literary community. With a Canada Council grant, Laberinto is expanding its anthology series, exploring the theme of sound in their upcoming project, ‘Beyond the Concert Hall’.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
