Bill Gates’s Breakthrough Energy Fellows program is adapting to global challenges and expanding its reach internationally. The latest cohort includes 45 fellows from 22 startups, with half based outside the U.S., including Canada, Germany, the U.K., and South Africa. The program’s expansion is supported by a new hub in Singapore, opened in collaboration with Temasek and Enterprise Singapore. This move underscores the global nature of climate change solutions. The cohort’s focus includes hydrogen economy, circularity, critical minerals, agriculture, and grid modernization. The program encourages participants to employ techno-economic analysis to ensure their technologies can achieve product-market fit, which has enhanced their venture viability. Nearly all past participants have secured follow-on funding, with one achieving a successful exit.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
