Tesla is set to revamp its utility-scale Megapack batteries with the introduction of Megapack 3, in an effort to reverse the decline of its energy-storage business. The new Megapack 3 offers an additional 1 megawatt-hour compared to its largest existing product and promises enhanced longevity. Tesla has also introduced Megablock, a collection of four Megapack 3 units capable of storing 20 megawatt-hours, which is sufficient to power approximately 4,000 homes for four hours. These innovations not only aim to attract utilities and data center developers but also reduce installation and construction times by 23% and 40%, respectively. Production of these products will commence in the latter half of 2026 at Tesla’s Megafactory in Houston. Tesla’s energy-storage business has been facing declining numbers, and these new offerings are part of a strategy to regain its leading position in the industry.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
