The funding round also saw participation from prominent investors such as MUFG Bank, Mitsubishi UFJ Innovation Partners, JAFCO Group, Keyrock Capital, Coreline Venture, and JP Investment, bringing the total capital raised by LayerX to $192.2 million. The startup is known for its AI-driven platform, Bakuraku, which automates back-office workflows including expense management, invoice processing, and corporate card operations for over 15,000 companies. LayerX also offers Ai Workforce, a generative AI solution aimed at streamlining workflows and utilizing enterprise data. The company is experiencing rapid growth, with a headcount increase from about 220 employees in October 2023 to around 430 by July 2025. LayerX is on track to reach $68 million in annual recurring revenue faster than any previous SaaS company in Japan and aims to achieve $680 million by 2030.
