Rapido, a well-known Indian ride-hailing platform, has launched a beta test of its new food delivery service, Ownly, in Bengaluru. This move is set to challenge established players Swiggy and Zomato in India’s rapidly growing food delivery market. Rapido’s food delivery service is currently being tested in three Bengaluru localities: Byrasandra, Tavarekere, Madiwala, Hosur Sarjapura Road, and Koramangala. The company has developed a subsidiary, Ctrlx Technologies, to manage this new venture, with Rapido’s co-founder and CEO Aravind Sanka leading the initiative. Ownly’s strategy includes lower prices by charging a fixed fee per order instead of commissions, making it more attractive to restaurants. With a fleet of 10 million vehicles, including two-wheelers, Rapido aims to leverage its existing logistics infrastructure for food deliveries. This expansion follows Rapido’s successful foray into various transport sectors, including bike taxis, auto rickshaws, and cabs, and is part of its broader strategy to diversify and grow its business.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
