Toronto-based online used car retailer Clutch is expanding its presence in Western Canada by opening a new 30,500-sq. ft. facility in Richmond, British Columbia. This move marks Clutch’s return to BC after previously focusing on Ontario and the Maritimes. The Richmond hub will serve as the company’s operational headquarters for Western Canada, overseeing logistics, inspection, reconditioning, and vehicle drop-off services. Clutch plans to hire up to 1,000 employees across its business over the next two years, with 400 of those positions in Western Canada. The company has recently experienced significant growth, achieving a 70% increase in the first half of 2025 and surpassing $1 billion CAD in total cars purchased. Clutch’s expansion strategy includes a new flagship facility in Mississauga, Ontario, and securing a $50-million Series D funding round. Despite challenges during the tech downturn, Clutch has rebounded by demonstrating profitability and growth. CEO Dan Park noted the negligible impact of US tariff hikes on their business, emphasizing the company’s commitment to serving Canadian customers.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
